Leila Branion, a young Irish woman is astounded when she learns that she has inherited a stock farm in Alberta, Canada with the provisio that she must live there for five years if she is to receive the remainder of her inheritance.
She accepts and comes to Canada where she discovers that she is a pariah in the neighborhood due to her mysterious grandfather.
